BONNERS FERRY — On June 4 shortly after 5 p.m, Boundary County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a picnic area, located along Smith Creek, in northern Boundary County to a report of possible human remains being found along the creek’s bank.

Summer Theater Productions of July

Come see the musicals “101 Dalmatians” and “School House Rock” presented on July 7th, 8th, and 9th by the Bonners Ferry Summer Theater Youth Group. These will be the only three days the musicals show, so don’t miss the chance to go support these blossoming actors and actresses. The performance starts at 7:00pm each night in the Becker Auditorium. Tickets will be sold at the door and cost $5 for kids and $8 for adults.

Writers at Harriman 2017: Applications now being accepted

BOISE—The writing camp for gifted high school writers, Writers at Harriman, is now accepting applications for 2017. The camp runs July 30 through August 5 at Harriman State Park of Idaho. The application deadline is June 15.

Bonners Ferry Band updates

Bonners Ferry high school and middle school band students volunteered over 200 hours to construct and staff the Second Chance Animal Shelter’s Haunted House. On Oct. 27, 28, and 31, the haunted house opened and screams could be heard for blocks as the band students and other volunteers did their best to entertain and terrify. All money raised went to house, feed, and care for homeless pets in Boundary County.

Fish and Game seeks comments on 2017/18 big game seasons

Idaho Fish and Game plans several open house meetings around the state during February to collect public comments on the 2017 and 2018 proposed seasons and rules for deer, elk, pronghorn, black bear, gray wolf and mountain lion.

Porthill border temporarily reducing hours

PORTHILL — U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is temporarily reducing the hours of operation at the Port of Porthill, beginning Monday, April 6. The Port of Porthill is currently open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. every day, but will change to 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
