Libby woman who assaulted, threatened officer accepts plea deal
Holly Evans, 44, from Libby Montana, accepted a plea agreement on June 15 for charges of driving under the influence, resisting or obstructing officers and injury to a child while driving under the influence.
Attendance down 99 students
Compared to last year, 99 fewer students attended the first day of school in Boundary County. Total attendance was 1,462 students, which does not reflect actual enrollment since every student may not have been in attendance.

BONNERS FERRY — People gathered together in the Memorial Hall of the Boundary County Fairgrounds on a chilly day to warm their hearts and bellies with another kind of chili. The inaugural “Veteran and First Responder Chili & Cornbread Cook Off” started at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 5.
Coomunity needs to pull together; do best with less
No surprise that the town districts would support the school bond. It is a surprise that Naples did. The levy means the tax money from all the farms and businesses of Porthill, Eastport, Mt. Hall, Evergreen, Moyie, Naples and Copeland will go to support the sports programs and extra curricular activities at the Bonners Ferry schools where town kids can participate and excel.
WBCSD board OKs hiring outside counsel
Meeting interrupted by multiple recesses
Recesses called by West Bonner County School Board chairman Keith Rutledge lasted almost as long as the meeting itself. In the end, the board approved the motion to hire outside counsel in a 3-2 vote.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING The Boundary County Planning and Zoning Commission will hold public hearing at 5:30 PM Thursday, April 20, 2017 in the Boundary County Courthouse to accept public comment on an Amendment Application, 17-052 by the Planning & Zoning Commission. Application 17-052 involves amending Ordinance 2017-1, Land Use Ordinance, to review proposed changes, specifically addressing updates to: Section 2 - Definitions Section 4 - Enforcement Section 11 - Subdivisions Section 20 - Parcel Divisions The proposed updates are both typographical (correcting formatting and spelling/numbering errors), and substantive. (Substantive changes are changes to actual content which add or delete verbiage thus altering the potential interpretation of an ordinance. An example might be the addition to an ordinance section to state 'No dogs allowed'. Not hard to interpret, but if the words did not exist before, the addition of these words (or removal of them) would be considered a substantive change.) The deadline for written comment and material for 17-052 is 12 PM Thursday April 13, 2017. Written comment may be mailed to: Boundary County Commissioners, PO Box 419, Bonners Ferry, ID 83805, faxed to (208) 267-1205 or emailed to planning@boundarycountyid.org. Written comment will be accepted at public hearing provided the material is read into the record. There may be a five (5) minute limit per person on verbal testimony.
