Cross-country teams prepare for districts

The cross country regular season came to a close last week as teams make final preparations for district competitions coming this week. The BFHS team traveled to Kellogg for the Ben Castro Invitational at Pinehurst Golf Course on Oct. 15. Golf course meets, such as the one at Pinehurst, tend to be flat courses with fast times and Kellogg’s home invite was no exception. The meet drew many small schools such as Potlach, Priest River, and Kootenai, but also attracted 4A Lakeland. Due to late start times and many teams having long travel distances, Kellogg made the wise choice to run all high school boys in one race and all high school girls in another.

It’s not acceptable to delay our work

As the dust was still settling on September 12, 2001, and the horror of the day prior’s events were still being discovered, the 107th Congress did not stay home. The 65th Congress did not stay home during the Spanish Flu, nor did the 81st during the worst of the polio outbreak. The 37th Congress met while our country was engaged in Civil War. The 65th and 77th Congress carried on after the United States entered World War I and World War II, respectively.

What's up, patrol officers?

can’t believe Bonners Ferry has fallen to the likes of a small town where people cringe when they pass through. Get yourself a scanner and OMG you’ll be amazed at what our city and county officers are doing between there patrol routes. If you enter from the south aka golf course or the north (new big hill) watch out your about to be stopped. Don’t dare have a foreigner plate like Montana, Alberta, Washington and especially California. You have just blown the PC radar for a stop consisting of checking your DL, insurance, vehicle reg, a 27, 28, and 29. Oh if your not in the know a 29 is checking your history and possible flight from a felony or misdemeanor warrant with extradition, if so, ding ding ding you just won a free ride, maybe your vehicle towed or the families day made by stopping in Boundary County.
