Superintendent Scoop
Being in the proud profession of teaching and learning for 40 years now, I will start with a multiple choice question, “What did I learn this year?” Select one: A) Learning never stops, B) Communication is key, C) Mistakes are educational, D) Respect and trust are earned, or E) All of the above. Easy enough question even though the answers are sometimes hard to come by! Overall, we had a wonderful school year and thanks to all the answers listed above, this will continue into 2017-2018 and beyond. As I will always do, let’s base our progress on safe, civil and productive actions.
Commissioner responds to writer's accusations
I'd like to respond to some of the letters that have recently appeared in the local media regarding the race for county commissioner, particularly one by Mike Oehler, who, as many of you may recall, launched similar criticisms when I was running for sheriff and arresting people who were growing marijuana.

Hawaii visits the senior center
BONNERS FERRY — For many seniors, the ability to go on vacation to anywhere exotic is just not possible for a variety of reasons. That was the inspiration for Nancy Martinez to create the themed luncheons at Seniors Hospitality Center of Boundary County.

Strengthening community pharmacy access for Idahoans
When Medicare’s prescription drug benefit, Part D, was created 20 years ago, the program was intended to protect Idaho seniors’ ability to access the pharmacy of their choice. Oversight and enforcement of these protections, however, have fallen short of that promise, forcing far too many independent pharmacies to close up shop.
