Concerned residents of Boundary County near the Moyie River along Earl Lane Road spoke to county commissioners on Tuesday, May 25, about an alleged “Ruby Ridge-style” compound forming in Boundary.

Boundary County Community Theatre has a long history in our area, having produced 60 plays in a wide variety of venues over the last 45 years. The most recent 10 of these productions have been staged at the local, independent Pearl Theater.

The drawing for the raffle winner of the New Weatherby 257mag. rifle was done at the gun club on Oct. 4 at noon, it was won by Cindy Keibert of Hope. Congratulations. Thank you all for your support of the high school trap club. The money from the raffle will be used for targets, shells and safety gear for the team.

Another legislative bill based on anything but science. Recently bill 1036 was proudly introduced by Senator Brandon Shippy of District 9. It places a moratorium on gene therapy and supports this by presenting a single case of injury after a J & J vaccination. I then wrote him the following e-mail:

XC squad competes in Farragut Invitational

On Saturday, the Badger cross country team returned to the site of the 2015 State Championships: Farragut State Park. Timberlake High School hosted the 5K course featuring a wide variety of turns and hills on a warm, sunny day. Schools from as far as Boise made the trek north to test the course and North Idaho competitors.

RSV on the rise in North Idaho

Virus with usually mild symptoms is sending children to the hospital

Like elsewhere in the U.S., North Idaho is beginning to see increases in hospitalizations from climbing rates of respiratory syncytial virus infections, or RSV. RSV is a common virus that normally causes mild cold-like symptoms but is sending people to the hospital at higher than usual rates. “In the past 48 hours, we have had a significant increase in RSV admissions,” said Dr. Vanessa Carroll, medical director of pediatrics for Kootenai Health in Coeur d'Alene, on Friday. “Many are outside the classic age range we expect for admission, with older children being admitted at rates that we have previously not experienced.”

Politics have never been top on my list of interests, but the numerous bills coming out of Boise do not reflect my rights or values. I never want guns in schools or music festivals. I don’t want armed militias walking the streets. I don’t want my tax dollars going to ludicrous lawsuits.
