SANDPOINT — The Badger wrestlers faced off against Sandpoint on Dec. 5 at Sandpoint. Sandpoint won the wrestling dual 48-27.

Summer food program changes are announced

Boundary County School District is participating in the summer food service program. This is a federal program that reimburses providers who serve healthy meals to all children 1-18 at no charge during the summer months. Acceptance and participation requirements for the Program and all activities are the same for all regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service. This institute is an equal opportunity provider.

Drawing for use of the deer hunt blind on the Wildlife Refuge

Kootenai National Wildlife Refuge (Refuge) will conduct a random drawing on August 15, to award ten hunters with disabilities a special Deer Hunt Permit. Hunters must provide proof of a valid Idaho Disabled Hunting License prior to the drawing. Hunters who require easier accessibility may apply to receive one of ten seven-day deer hunt permits as follows:

The Idaho Legislature will have the opportunity to support a strong agenda for Growing Freedom in Idaho during the 2017 Legislative Session. The agenda, driven by citizen input and geared toward cultivating greater personal freedoms for Idahoans, was released on Jan. 5, by Idaho State Representatives Heather Scott (R-1A) and Ronald Nate (R-34A).

Evelyn Marie Albano

Evelyn Marie Albano, age 90, peacefully passed away in her sleep, at Hearthstone Village in Kootenai, Idaho, on Thursday March 5. Evelyn was born on Dec. 11, 1929, to Art and Ernestine Anschutz in Union County, New Mexico. Her family moved to Tulia, Texas, until she was four years old, and then moved back to the Rocky Mountains in New Mexico. She had fun with her family going to neighborhood dances that lasted until dawn. They didn’t have a lot, but they enjoyed life.
