Robert Endicott from Bonners Ferry was honored by Gonzaga University and named on the President’s List for achieving a GPA above 3.85 for Spring semester 2021. Students must earn a 3.85 to 4.0 grade-point average to be listed.
Correction - May 7, 2020
In an April 30 story about the production of 3D printed masks, Brian Hengel-Lentz’s name was incorrectly listed. The date of his decision to go launch his own firm, Texas CADDpro LLC in Buda, Texas, was incorrect and should have been listed as 2002.

Eika Willis wins BCMS National Geographic Bee
Eika Willis, an eighth grade student at Boundary County Middle School, won the school competition of the National Geographic Bee on Jan. 29, and a chance at a $50,000 college scholarship. The school Bee, at which students answered questions on geography, was the first round in the 30th annual National Geographic Bee, a geography competition designed to inspire and reward students’ curiosity about the world.

BCMS track and field teams win districts, records broken
For the second year in a row, three Boundary County Middle School track and field teams took first place and another took second at the Northern Idaho League Districts on May 5. School records were matched and broken throughout the season.

The Pacific Region of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced Wednesday it is initiating 5-year reviews of 69 species from Idaho, Washington, Hawai’i, Guam, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands that are protected under the federal Endangered Species Act.
