Registration Open for Baseball and Softball
Spring is nearly upon us — a time to enjoy the sun and warmer weather. With it comes spring and summer activities for local kids. Boundary County Parks and Rec is a big part of that, and now is the time to get your kids signed up for baseball and softball. Parents are encouraged to volunteer as well.

Deadline for flag football and T-ball fast approaching
Summer is almost here, which means it’s time to register your kids for flag football and T-ball through Boundary County Parks and Rec. Parents are encouraged to volunteer as well.

Mirror Lake Ladies' Golf Report
For the week of May 28 and 29, Game of the Day was “Ace of the Month” and “Longest Putt on Hole #9.” The last Tuesday and Wednesday of every month are “Ace” days. At the end of the season, all the “Ace” winners compete for the grand prize “Ace of Aces” which is announced at the Mirror Lake Ladies’ awards and recognition dinner in October. Nobody won longest putt. Not due to lack of trying. Pin placement was particularly atrocious.

Mirror Lake Ladies' Golf Report
The main feature of Sept. 25-26, the last days of the Mirror Lake Ladies’ 2019 season was “Ace of Aces,” in which the 5 players who won “Ace of the Month” during the 2019 season compete for the ultimate title of “Ace of Aces.” The five competitors this year were Blanche Studer, Carrie Figgins, Therese Helmer, Karen English, and Gerry Ann Howlett. After some terrific golf from these fine competitors, Gerry Ann Howlett emerged the winner of the title of “Ace of Aces,” 2019. Congratulations Gerry Ann!
Mirror Lake Women's Golf
In week 16 the Mirror Lake ladies drew cards to determine teams. The Tuesday evening team winners were; Julie Williams, Gerry Ann Howlett, Dona Irons and Evelyn Rae with a gross team score of 37. Julie Williams had the low gross score of 37 and Evelyn Rae had the low net score of 35. Gerry Ann Howlett had the least number of putts with 13.

COEUR D’ALENE – Two-hundred millennial’s take a break from the internet for a week to sleep in bunk beds and figure out how to be themselves at the Idaho Youth Summit.

West Bonner to close junior high
Elementary schools to remain open
After a marathon, five-hour, often emotional meeting, the West Bonner County School Board voted to keep its three elementary schools open but close its junior high school. The high school would also remain open.

Badgers pressure Royals winning season opener
Girls basketball overwhelmed North Idaho Chistian with a full court press resulting in 27 steals and a 45-16 victory.

Baseball allows the Spartans only one run
The Badgers only allowed the Spartans one run in a double header April 23 as Bonners Ferry defeated their Intermountain League foe 37-1, 10-0.
