Roger H. Halverson, 73

Roger H. Halverson of Castle Rock, Wash., passed away on Dec. 22, 2013, at the Hospice Care Center with Charlene, his wife of 51 years, and his children at his side.

Gardiner glad bandit caught

A Washington teenager accused in a series of international crimes was captured Sunday in the Bahamas, and the local man whose $340,000 Cessna T182T airplane was stolen last year from its hangar at the Boundary County Airport is relieved the so-called “Barefoot Bandit,” Colton A. Harris-Moore, is in custody.

City keeps utility policy

Bonners Ferry City Council voted on Dec. 6, to keep the city’s current billing and collection policy on the upgrade requirement of external disconnects upon shutoff for non-payment.

Dixon will stand up and defend our rights

Sage Dixon’s opponent is aghast that citizens of Idaho would dare disobey a stay-at-home edict. So much so that he was compelled to pen an op-ed shaming Rep. Dixon for requesting the shuttering of a website created by employees of Health and Welfare that, in eerie shades of East Germany, encouraged area residents to *report* on those disobeying the governor’s stay-at-home order.

Local candidates file for November election

Filing deadlines for candidates for the November 7, 2023 election were due on Friday September 8 to the respective taxing district office.

Voting Information May 16

On Tuesday May 16, city residents have the opportunity to vote on a proposed local option tax of 1% on taxable goods up to $1,000 to fund the police, fire and street departments. Those living in Boundary County Library Trustee Zones 5 and 3 have the opportunity to vote for candidates also at the May 16 election.

Boundary Ambulance 'not eligible' for override levy

Boundary Ambulance Service is dropping plans for an override levy after it was advised by the Idaho State Tax Commission that it did not not qualify.
