There is an important library board election May 16 for those of you living in zones 3 and 5. Incumbents Aaron Bohachek (Zone 3) and Lee Colson (Zone 5) deserve your support. Both have demonstrated excellent leadership and are strongly committed to making sure the library is accessible to all.

Idaho agricultural land is a precious resource that should be protected from foreign adversaries. I recently co-sponsored legislation that would prevent foreign adversaries’ purchases or investment in U.S. farmland.

A financial emergency was formally declared by the Coeur d’Alene School District. Trustees voted 3-2 during a special meeting Friday to move ahead with the declaration. Chair Rebecca Smith, who attended via phone, Vice Chair Casey Morrisroe and Trustee Heather Tenbrink voted in favor. Trustee Allie Anderton, who also attended by phone, and Trustee Lesli Bjerke voted against the motion.
