Recent phone call scam
According to the Boundary County Sheriff’s Office, there have been recent fraud calls to Boundary County residents from someone claiming to be from the Publishers Clearing House. They advise the person that they have won several million dollars, and/or a car or other prizes, and then ask the person to get a gift card or provide some sort of financial information to claim the prize.

Don't get fooled this election season
There's an old saying: “You can fool ALL people SOME of the time---you can fool SOME people ALL the time—but you can't fool ALL the people ALL the time!” I don't like to admit it, but I've been fooled. But it's not a disgrace to be misled—we are all deceived occasionally: the problem is if we fall for the scam a second time.

The Internal Revenue Service has been flush with funds since the Biden Administration enacted an incredible $80 billion in addition to the agency’s $12.3 billion annual budget. Despite these funds being described as a cure-all for the IRS’s shortcomings, some customer service has actually worsened. One in particular is the resolution of identity theft cases, sometimes leaving identity theft victims in stressful financial limbo for nearly two years.

BOISE — The Idaho Department of Insurance has been made aware of a possible scam by a company using deceptive practices to market health insurance in Idaho. Your Health Idaho, the state’s health insurance exchange, has received complaints from consumers about an organization called National Enrollment Center. Multiple atttempts to contact the company went unanswered or were disconnected.

Idaho Gov. Brad Little says Idahoans who filed their taxes on time should expect to see special session tax rebate checks by Thanksgiving. Little recently told the Sun the state has issued 192,000 rebate checks totaling $133 million so far.
