Adrian Bryan went undefeated on his way to winning the BCTA Singles Title against some very tough competition.

Pineapple upside-down cake

I had a chance to try a pineapple upside-down cake for a potluck on Monday. I gleaned the recipe from a book I was given when I was first married. Wow the sugar. I cut the sugar considerably, but I think it could still be cut some more. The recipe called for a no. 2 can of pineapple which translates to a 20 oz. can in today’s language.

BCMS Cross Country team home meet

BONNERS FERRY — Boundary County Middle School hosted Kellogg, Priest River, and Timberlake for the Bonners Ferry Cross Country Small Schools Invitational last Thursday, Sept. 19. The middle school athletes raced on the newly developed course which involved a start and finish on the Bonners Ferry High School track and 1.5 mile loop through the fields and woods behind BFHS. The course provided athletes with a range of hills, open space, and turns.

Public Notice: Cabinet Mountains Water District The Cabinet Mountains Water District would like to apply for grant funds for water system improvements to improve supply, storage, pressure and fire flow throughout the system. An assessment of the beneficiaries is a requirement of the funds. To accomplish this, the Panhandle Area Council, an outside consultant for the District, will be conducting an income survey to provide the necessary beneficiary data. Games, food, cars ... and giant pizzas

PORTHILL — The Classic Car Show at Porthill has seen 10 years of vintage cars grace its streets with winners coming from both Idaho and Canada. This year the tradition continues on Saturday, Sept. 21, from noon to 6 p.m., with a few changes. There won’t be any registration fees for car owners and prizes will be awarded with a trophy and cash this year.
