Spaghetti feed, auction to benefit Brian Ashby
Brian Ashby, a Bonners Ferry native, was recently diagnosed with cancer which is already in an advanced stage and affecting numerous internal organs. Brian is a log truck driver in Boundary County and is the sole supporter for his wife Susannah, four children, and a new little one on the way. Brian is a wonderful friend, neighbor, and community member.
Eagle Scout rank to be awarded
BONNERS FERRY — Eric Layeux of Moyie Springs, has earned the highest advancement award the Boy Scouts of America offers to Scouts, the Eagle Scout Award.

On Saturday, May 19, Missoula, Mont., hosted its second Garden City Open Jiu-Jitsu tournament. Bonners Ferry Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu sent 25 competitors there of all ages and had amazing results.

Badgers capture 4th straight IML title
The Bonners Ferry Badger baseball team had to travel to Spirit Lake twice after the hour and a half game rain delay start on Tuesday, May 1, game against Timberlake went to a suspended game due to darkness with a 7-7 score through 7 innings. But, the Badgers came away with a thrilling 8-7 victory to capture their fourth straight league title after senior captain Chris Sabin smashed a solo home run in the top of the 9th inning.

BONNERS FERRY — With white string lights criss crossing the ceiling of the new venue for the Fall Festival and Fashion Show, the models wound their way through the tables, stopping occasionally to talk about the clothing or let someone feel the fabric.
Tip a Badger fundraiser a success
BONNERS FERRY — The Springs Restaurant in the Kootenai River Inn was particularly packed for a Thursday night on Nov. 9, from 5-9 p.m. Not only were the tables filled with guests enjoying dinner, but the floor was alive with Badger spirit and pride. An old tradition, lost after many years, was resurrected — Tip a Badger night had returned.
NIC responds to community questions
As the deadline to respond to its accreditor approaches, North Idaho College leaders fielded questions from the community on Thursday. Around 100 people filled the Lake Coeur d’Alene Room in the Student Union Building on campus for a community focus group organized by Kootenai County’s four chambers of commerce.
