"John O'Hogge, had several gold/copper mines in the area [near Eastport] - explaining the naming of the two mountains on each side of the port - Hogue (O'Hogge) Mountain and Copper Ridge. The "east port" consisted of three log cabins and a number of tents. Supplies were purchased at the general store in King's Gate." Small Towns, Big Dreams

Sherlene Johnson has retired as a bus driver for Boundary County School District after nearly 30 years.
Winter Weather Advisory until 4 p.m. Monday
The Boundary County Sheriff's Office send out a winter weather advisory early Monday morning due to snow accumulations between three and six inches with local amounts up to 9 inches in the mountains. Winds gusting 35 to 45 mph.
Congressional delegation requests port of entry to return to pre-COVID hours
Idaho’s congressional delegation is calling for the Porthill Port of Entry to return to pre-COVID-19 hours now that travel restrictions are being lifted in Canada and to encourage cross-border commerce.
