100 Years Ago The funeral of Albert French, who dropped dead Saturday afternoon at the Simonds Drug Store corner, was held Monday afternoon at the Stookey Undertaking Parlors, the services being conducted by Rev. A.A. Morton interment was held in the Grandview Cemetery. French had recently worked at Perry Wilson’s logging camp in the Leonia district.

100 Years Ago The Great Northern Railway Co. has given a contract to Phil Barney at the south end of Main St. for a large amount of grading work on the company right of way. A part of the hill south of the tracks will be cut down and the dirt will be hauled to the gulch between the railway and Cottage Avenue.

Bonners Ferry Herald, December 10, 1925 ~ "Word was received here this week that Stephen D. Taylor, former editor and owner of the Bonners Ferry Herald, died last Friday at Strawn, Texas, following an attack of blood poisoning. The body was to be shipped to Boise for burial. Mr. Taylor was about 60 years of age."

100 Years Ago Two sisters, Dorothy Evelyn, 3, and Esther June, a one-and-half-year-old of Mr. and Mrs. K. Darrell Wooden, were burned to death yesterday afternoon at the camp of the Gold and Ruby Mining Co. at Leonia. The wooden house caught fire while the mother was at a neighbor’s home on an errand.
